Zone 4 Projections for 2011-2012

The following is a synopsis of the goals and objectives set by LtG Patrick for the 2011-2012 Power of One Year under the leadership of Caribbean District Governor, Dwight Phillips. 
Goals:
        A happy cohesive and productive Zone marshalling the benefits of Optimism and the goals of the District
        To create a forum through which all members of the Zone will feel motivated and empowered to fulfill the mission and purpose of Optimism 
        To promote efficient and effective functioning of all clubs maximizing the unique skills and potentials within the clubs.


Specific Objectives:
Improved youth involvement in Optimism
Higher level of membership participation at Zone meetings
Full paying membership by Q3
At least two skills development modules for the zone as a way of encouraging PGI among membership by Q3
All clubs represented at all District meetings, conferences, and Convention
Hold two major fundraising events to support Zone/Clubs Representation at Conferences and Zone led activities across the Zone
Conduct one Zone event that brings focus to a specific area of the movement’s work
Publish The OICD Zone 4 Quarterly – a newsletter of success stories within the Zone
Host the Ultimate Zone 4 Lyme! – Castleton/Tapioca/Somerset Falls?
Hold quarterly zone leaders meeting
Continue and expand the Special Incentive Programme (Zone 4 SIP) started by PLtG Margaret
a.        Travellers Trophy (Quarterly) – the club with the most members at Zone meeting
b.       Distinguished Presidential Award (Q4)
c.        Secretary-Treasurer Recognition (Q2, Q4) – administrative support is not often recognized so this would be for the CST who is most consistent with submitting the required documentation and information for the Q
d.       Membership or New Club Building Badge (Q4) – the club or member that builds or recruits the most clubs at either adult or junior levels by Q3
e.        Optimism Awareness Quiz Competition (Q2 and Q4) – a competition for individual club members to test their knowledge and awareness of Optimism at the International, Regional, District and Zone levels to be held at Zone meetings
Establish a Zone 4 Council of LTGs – a sort of ex-officio body that provides guidance and support to the incumbent and the zone in a systematic and structured manner through visitations, training, and mentorship.
All club bylaws reviewed and submitted to optimist International by end of  Q2
Governor and DST to attend at least one zone meeting in their respective District positions
