Welcome

This is the blog space for Optimist International Caribbean District Zone 4. Here we will share with you the thoughts, activities, and projections of the most dynamic set of Optimists within the voluntary service movement dedicated to bringing out the best in children.  Optimists are known for their positive outlook on life,  unconditional service to children, and generous spirit of hope in the face of adversity. As one of the tenets of the Optimist Creed says: Promise yourself to think only of the best, work only for the best and expect only the best.
Optimist International is an association of more than 2900 clubs working to better the lives of children from Canada, the USA and the Caribbean.  These clubs are organized into zones. which are then grouped into districts and districts into regions.  This blogspace is for Zone 4 in District #78 - The Caribbean District.  Hence the 7804 Optimist nomenclature.
There are six clubs in Zone 4 from Kingston, St Andrew, St Mary and Portland.  With a little over one hundred members doing yeomen work, Zone 4 continues to demonstrate what Optimism is truly about - harnessing the power of every single individual within a collective movement towards improving the lives of children from all walks of life
